Selektor Engleske Gary Southgate objavio je širi spisak od 32 fudbalera koji su kandidati za 23 mjesta koja će garantovati učešće na Mundijalu u Rusiji.

Soutghate je napravio iznenađenje jer na spiska nije uvrstio najbojeg asistenta Lige prvaka, Jamesa Milnera iako je bilo govora da bi se mogao vratiti u Gordi Albion nakon sjajne sezone sa Liverpoolom, a svoje mjesto su pronašli fudbaleri Burnleya, Borunemoutha, Swansea, WBA… Joe Hart zbog povrede propušta Mundijal.
